Delio Rossi: "We have nothing to show anyone"

According to the official club website, here’s what Delio Rossi had to say on the eve of Fiorentina-Milan:

Are you more excited or worried about tomorrow’s match? 

“To be honest, I am curious. At this moment, I have to do well and soon, but it’s not easy. I must get a picture of the game to understand where we are. For now, I only have impressions, but the game, the pitch, can give me the right dimension”. 

What did Florence give you since you arrived? 

“They showed me all their estimation, but I have done nothing so far. I am not a guru” 

Your first impressions about the team? 

“I know the players and their characteristics, but I need to get to know their personalities. I saw a group with the willingness to do. Everyone has given me full availability”. 

Players being away with their respective National teams was an extra problem for you? 

“No. it is a matter of pride for the Club” 

How come Babacar, Ljajic and Camporese have now been re-instated in the team? 

“I would like to clarify that I am not in confrontation with anyone. Whatever I am doing now cannot be compared with what was done before my arrival. I have the greatest respect for Mihajlovic and his staff. I only do my choices and I want them to be the best for Fiorentina”. 

Montolivo’s situation? 

“I ask you to evaluate players for what they are going to do and not for what they have done. I want a team with a fighting spirit”.

Formation? 

“I have an idea, but in this moment the 4-3-1-2 is the most suitable. I haven’t seen all my players yet and I want to get to know them first, before choosing the formation”. 

Vargas? 

“He was with Peru National team and I did not have a chance to evaluate him. On Sunday can only play who trained in the week, otherwise we go nowhere”. 

Cerci’s position? 

“if I am not mistaken, he played as a second striker. I don’t see that as a problem”. 

Are there any interesting youngsters at Fiorentina? 

“When I bet on a youngster, I want to be 100% sure, because I don’t want to jeopardise his career”. 

What kind of match Fiorentina v Milan will be? 

“We have nothing to prove. Tomorrow I am only expecting respect for our colours and a fighting spirit from my lads”.
