Allegri hopes to stay in Milan for a long time

Massimiliano Allegri was talking to Rai and responded positively when asked if his intention was to stay at San Siro for the long term.

“I hope so, because Milan is a great club. I'd like to stay a long time, but it always depends on the results. Last year we started well with the Scudetto and now we have also won the Supercoppa, and we hope for a repeat this year.”

Allegri then passed comment on Antonio Cassano:

“Cassano is doing very well. There was talk about him in the summer because it seemed he was leaving. Instead, we are very happy, because it was also still Milan's intention not to sell him.”

The Coach has begun the season with a number of absences in attack. Whilst repeating Adriano Galliani's words on the mystery that surrounds Alexandre Pato's injury record, he also confirmed that the club intend to welcome Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Massimo Ambrosini back for the midweek Champions League tie with Viktoria Plzen.

“It is a strange case because only two years ago to now he has had repeated injuries, and it is normal to think there is something strange.

“We are much better, we have three days available and we hope they are ready.”

Should Ibrahimovic not make the Champions League match, he is thought definitely available the following weekend, when Milan travel to Juventus, and face former hero Andrea Pirlo.

“Pirlo is a great player, in the summer the choice was made by the club and by Andrea. He is over at Juventus, who have conducted an excellent market, and are one of the candidates to win the Scudetto.

“The same applies to Inter. Organically they remain strong and will ultimately be at the top in the fight for the title.”

Allegri then also gave his view on Walter Mazzarri's belief that playing in the Champions League will see a team drop at least 10 points in the League.

“I think that for Napoli being in the Champions League after 21 years, it is a novelty. It is normal to play every three days, especially with the Champions League. It takes away mental energy, you have to be used to it.”
