AC Milan have suffered a major blow today as it has been revealed this evening that French midfielder Mathieu Flamini will be sidelined for at least five months after suffering a serious knee damage.
Flamini picked up this injury in the Trofeo Luigi Berlusconi against Juve (Milan won 2-1 thanks to goals from Kevin-Prince Boateng and Clarence Seedorf), and already from the beginning it seemed serious.
The former Arsenal man is suffering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee and the 27-year-old will therefore be out for a long period and will be watching his team in the league and in the Champions League on TV or from the stands of the San Siro as he will return only in early February.
Flamini played a good season under Massimiliano Allegri and was an important rotation player.
